Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the repair and maintenance of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical issues.
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.
- Solid understanding of electrical & hydraulic system
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure the functionality of machinery.
- Maintain HVAC systems within heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and controls related to heavy machinery.
- Operate cranes and other heavy equipment safely while conducting repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Must provide your own basic tools.
- Repair air brake systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in equipment repair, particularly with heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques and practices.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to mechanical work.
- Ability to fabricate parts as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and their maintenance in industrial settings is preferred.
- Understanding of electrical systems related to heavy equipment operation.
- Experience operating cranes or similar machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of air brake systems and their repair processes is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
