Job Title: Laborer
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to assist in the safe excavation, installation, and construction of various projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hand tools, be able to follow directions from the Foreman, and contribute to the overall success of the project by ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This position requires physical labor, effective communication, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Excavation and Installation: Use hand tools such as shovels to assist the operator in safely excavating or placing units. Install fiber, cable, and duct underground or in trench as needed.
- Utility and Site Analysis: Inspect job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control to ensure construction activities are completed safely, without defects, safety incidents, or property damage.
- Task Execution: Follow the direction of the crew Foreman to perform tasks such as digging holes, setting handholes/peds, and placing ducts to poles.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily service and safety checks, including checking oil, fluids, and performing minor repairs on equipment.
- Safety and Quality: Ensure all work is performed according to firm and OSHA/ANSI standards, always complying with safety procedures and work practices.
- Team Communication: Effectively communicate with team members to maintain productivity and safety on the job site.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain quality and cleanliness of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- License: Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Skills & Experience: Ability to operate equipment such as power tools, electronic testing equipment, and air compressors. Must be able to work safely, both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, safely lift up to 80 pounds, and stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
- Communication: Must be able to follow directions, give and receive audible and hand signals, and work effectively with the crew.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to identify hazards related to above or below ground utilities, property, or other risks.

Work Environment:
