Job Summary:
- This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a strong technical background in land surveying who thrives in managing people, projects, and department operations.
- As Survey Department Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the entire survey team, ensuring high-quality project execution, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Manage: Supervise the entire Survey Department staff, providing mentorship and professional development.
- Operations & Strategy: Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and production workflows.
- Project Oversight: Review and approve contracts, proposals, project documents, and change orders.
- Coordination & Communication: Work closely with the CEO, Operations Manager, and Civil Department Manager to align department goals.
- Scheduling & Execution: Manage survey project scheduling, field crew coordination, and client communication.
- Business Development: Develop and implement the Survey Department Marketing Plan to grow our client base.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee department budgeting, job tracking, and financial performance.
- Hiring & Staff Management: Conduct recruitment, staff evaluations, and salary adjustments.
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in California (Required).
- 10 years of experience in land surveying, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica, and other survey-related software.
- Strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills.
- California driver’s license is required.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
