What are the responsibilities and job description for the CTE Teacher position at Career Prep High Schools?
Job purpose
The CTE Teacher will lead the delivery and development of high quality CTE experiences. The classroom/remote Teacher effectively utilizes their prior education and training, sound classroom management, technology and the school?s curriculum to successfully educate and graduate students.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Teach assigned subjects following the school?s course of study utilizing technology and varying teaching modalities, routinely and frequently incorporating content that relates to real-world work, especially in trades for which our school provides certification courses, such as medical services, retail services, mechanical and skilled trades, and information careers.
- Develop lesson plans using a variety of techniques such as real-life work scenarios, examples, and problems; visual aids; creative projects; and technology to engage students in their learning
- Participate in curriculum and instructional development projects in collaboration with fellow faculty onsite and at our other locations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including required professional building teams
- Keep accurate records using school approved tools and processes for each student such as grade books and progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, and discipline in an orderly fashion conducive to good learning
- Motivate students to achieve their full attendance, academic, and behavioral goals, as well as other goals identified
- Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders
- Maintain effective communication on an ongoing basis with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned
