Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior Civil Project Manager - t his is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work from one of the following locations : Hayward, Roseville, Pleasanton, San Jose, or San Luis Obispo CA
The Senior Project Manager is intended for experienced engineering professionals who oversee all aspects of assigned projects and manage a team of three to six members. This includes mentoring Project Managers I and supporting Project Managers II in forming and developing their teams. The Senior Project Manager reports to a Principal for guidance and support in executing responsibilities. The role involves assisting in the overall oversight of the department and contributing to the development of company standards aimed at improving the work environment.
Responsibilities :
- Support and mentor Project Managers I / II within your team
- Guide, oversee, and evaluate the performance of team members
- Assist in training Design Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers I / II
- Participate in employee performance evaluations and provide feedback
- Contribute to the creation and development of civil department standards
- Organize and develop material for monthly Project Manager meetings
- Participate in the hiring process and evaluate potential candidates for the civil team
- Provide input during the hiring process and assist with developing standardized training material
- Assist with preparing and reviewing quotes for potential new projects
- Prepare billing invoices and proposal addenda for assigned projects
- Review project budgets and open hours with senior management
- Collaborate with Accounting Department to review outstanding invoices and follow-up strategies
- Review quality control and quality assurance (QC / QA) plans for preliminary, permit, and construction phases
- Manage and schedule project deliverables to ensure client satisfaction
- Coordinate design aspects with consultants (e.g., project architect, geotechnical engineer, structural engineer) for small to large projects
- Conduct site visits / inspections and mentor Design Engineers to conduct these independently
- Lead the preparation of Site Development Plans (e.g., Grading and Drainage Plans, On-Site and Street Improvement plans, Storm Water Quality Plans, Utility Plans, Parking Lot Layout, Feasibility Exhibits) for land development projects
