What are the responsibilities and job description for the New Business Planner position at Career Site - New Applicants?
The New Business Planner is responsible for coordinating the installation of new gas facilities for residential and commercial projects. This position will work directly with Energy Solutions, the New Business Construction team and SWG pipeline contractors to help manage and coordinate the installation of new gas facilities to ensure customer satisfaction. The Planner will be a liaison between Southwest Gas New Business Construction and developers, customers, and contractors. This position is required to regularly communicate with developers and contractors to provide installation specifications for customer provided sleeving, trenching and meter spreads/locations. The Planner will also be responsible for evaluating any requests for splitting existing Master Meter Operator systems and work with Customer Service and Technical Services to coordinate work to separate Master Meter Systems and transition them to Southwest Gas maintained facilities. Great communication skills, knowledge of Southwest Gas applications/processes, and the ability to successfully manage a high volume of work at a fast pace is critical for this position. This position can be filled in either the east or west region.
POSITION DIMENSIONS
This position does not have accountability for company personnel or budget and reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform onsite meetings with superintendents to ensure adherence to design and trenching specifications
- Communicate with customers with regard to mandatory installation specifications, meter spreads/locations and sleeve details
- Act as liaison between Southwest Gas construction department and the new business customer
- Investigate, review, and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction
- Work with customers to determine technical needs and MSA specifications
- Coordinate, schedule, and monitor new business construction work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Utilize quality project management skills to ensure quality and timely installation of projects
- Provide technical and safety training for installation contractors
- Proficient in tracking projects and field contacts in the FOMS system
- Responsible for damage and relocation collection fees on new business projects
- Schedule and perform field preconstruction meetings
- Establish and promote good working relations with installation contractors, municipalities, and customers
- Coordinate inspection of sleeving installations and trench backfill
- Ensure quality communication with internal departments
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
QUALIFICATIONS
There are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses to determine how this job is performed. This position requires one to three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience, sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.
Project Management experience preferred. Experience in FOMS system also preferred.
SALARY DETAILS
$72,900 - $105,700
