What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Real Estate Accountant position at Career Smart Executive Recruiters?
Our Client, a leader in their field, is seeking an experienced Corporate Real Estate Accountant with at least 5 years Accounting experience in Multifamily Properties and additionally Corporate level experience with a strong understanding of GAAP. Other major qualifications include minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related discipline and also proficiency in Excel, Power Point and Word. Applicants must also have experience utilizing Leasing Software Platforms, preferably, RealPage. This position is located in Macon, Georgia and is an onsite position. It reports directly to the Controller. You will be working with a vibrant, energetic team and with an innovative company that is growing like crazy. Job duties include:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial portfolios and corporate entities
- Handle month-end close procedures for corporate and commercial management accounts, including accruals, depreciation, and asset management
- Perform account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger entries and financial reports
- Analyze and interpret financial data, providing insights and recommendations for operational improvements and cost control
- Review payroll and manage entries, billing, and reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other industry-specific accounting standards
- Work closely with regional managers and community managers to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Manage commercial tenant relationships to ensure accurate and on-time payments. Process all rent checks on the same business day as received.
- Manage and process corporate AP
- Set up and monitor all credit card accounts to ensure all expenses are recorded accurately within the corresponding property file
- Manage intercompany billings
- Keep master entity spreadsheet updated and accurate.
- Manage the GA Secretary of State entity renewal and any other states we are doing business in
- Set up and manage all bank accounts and monitor cash balances
- Compile, complete and mail vendor 1099 and 1096 tax forms on an annual basis
- Manage receiving invoices and bills, for commercial properties, and ensure that the Facility Teams correctly indicate the GL code and CAM or billback type. Ensure all A/R that comes from this, as well as commercial rents, are invoiced and collected per Company policy.
- Assist and monitor reserve requests and reimbursements with the Controller
