What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Career Start?
Career Start is currently seeking a Machine Operator in Cortland, NY. To be considered for this position, candidates must have previous manufacturing or machine operation experience. The Machine Operator will be responsible for completing assigned production duties by setting up, operating, cleaning and troubleshooting production equipment.
Shifts Available:
- Monday through Friday, 6pm to 6:30am with rotating weekends
- Monday through Friday, 6am to 6:30pm with rotating weekends
Responsibilities of Machine Operator:
- Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Operate assigned filling equipment, including setup, prestart, startup, operation, shutdown, and cleaning, following standard operating procedures.
- Conduct CIP processes, including controlling chemical input temperature and time, and monitor COP processes, including manual washing of equipment, COP tank, and equipment setup.
- Maintain production schedules, meet order expectations, monitor variances, report out-of-spec issues, plan daily schedules, and participate in waste reduction efforts.
- Clears any jam-ups and restore production line operation.
- Use the inventory control system to update inventory and access necessary details.
- Gain competence in online circuits and learn proper hookups within the facility
Requirements of Machine Operator:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
