The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall clinical operation of the facility. This includes leadership and oversight of nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of patient care, and driving quality improvement initiatives. The DON plays a critical role in fostering a positive, team-oriented culture that supports resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care.

Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, OSHA, and state health departments.

Monitor resident care plans and ensure individualized, effective care delivery.

Conduct routine audits, quality assurance checks, and incident investigations.

Participate in the facility’s leadership team and contribute to strategic planning.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage nurse scheduling.

Provide clinical guidance and support during medical emergencies or complex cases.

Serve as a liaison between the nursing department and residents, families, physicians, and other departments.

Lead staff education and training programs to support continuous professional development.
Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oklahoma (or applicable state).

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.

Strong understanding of federal and state regulations for long-term care facilities.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., PointClickCare) preferred.
