Job Title: High School CTE- Computer Science Pathways Teacher (FOR THE 2025 - 2026 SCHOOL YEAR)
Job Classification: Licensed Instructional
Reports to: Director of CTE Programs/Building Administrator
Work Schedule: Academic Year
General Description:
Implement and manage the computer Science within Computer Science 1, Computer Science 2, and Digital Media. In addition, provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Must be able to obtain an IDOE Workplace Specialist License or an appropriate Teaching License.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan lessons using curriculum, Instructional calendars, and Indiana State Standards
- Plan lessons focusing on the rigor of the content curriculum while meeting students at their instructional level
- Plan lessons that are easily identifiable, focused, and clear; reinforce lessons with additional instruction, learning activities, and
- appropriate assessment
- Adjust and plan lessons based on differentiated Instruction to meet the needs of all students
- Make modifications in lessons based on knowledge of the goals for each student's disability as outlined in his/her IEP and or 504 plan.
- Utilize classroom and corporation materials, resources, and technology that enhance Instruction
- Use assessment data to plan lessons and drive Instruction
- Create a classroom environment that supports Instruction
- Maintain an organized classroom to manage the classroom effectively and to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students
- Be a positive role model for all students
- Maintain a positive disciplinary plan for all students
- Develop a repertoire of teaching strategies to reach all learners
- Participate ln Corporation and Bu11dlng based Professional Development
- Communicate with parents in a clear, effective, and timely manner
- Communicate and work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues
- Keep student, parent, and family Information confidential
- Maintain accurate records regarding student Information, grades, report cards, test data, IEP's, and attendance as required by the principal
- Serve on committees as assigned by the building principal
- Adhere to School Board policies, Corporation policies, and procedures, and building guidelines
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal and district administrators
School Activities:
- High School CTE Teacher Is required to attend and/or participate in such other activities as directed by the Administrator such as faculty meetings (before or after school hours), open houses, commencement, exercises, chaperoning student activities, guiding students, participating on faculty committees, study, and help resolve school problems.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Competency in the administration and Interpretation of academic ability testing
- Ability to use technology for documentation and preparation of professional materials
- Ability to teach and assist students in the use of computer applications
- Ability to communicate assessment results, in written and oral forms, to parents and professionals
- Ability to develop, Implement, and evaluate behavior plans for use in general and special education settings
- Ability to perform tasks, allocate time, and maintain schedule flexibility
