About the Role
The Center School to Career/Work-Based Learning Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our students. This position requires a dedicated and passionate individual who can build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners. As part of this team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the school-to-Career/Work-Based Learning program, ensuring that students receive the support and guidance they need to succeed in their chosen careers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish effective working relationships with colleagues, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Provide personalized support to students, helping them navigate the challenges of Center life and beyond.
  • Track student behavior, performance, progress, and goals, using this data to inform program decisions.
  • Guarantee confidentiality, addressing sensitive situations promptly and professionally.
  • Respond to crisis situations, prioritizing student well-being and safety.
  • Meet regularly with assigned students, documenting key discussions and action items.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment meet Center, CSD, and DOL standards.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses, labor organizations, and community groups to create meaningful work-based learning experiences.
  • Organize events and activities that bring together education, training, and industry stakeholders, driving the success of the school-to-Career/Work-Based Learning program.
  • Match students with work sites based on their skills, interests, and career aspirations.
  • Coordinate site visits with the Center Safety Officer, guaranteeing student safety and compliance.
  • Represent the School to Career program through presentations, workshops, and tours, promoting its value and impact.
  • Act as a liaison between the Center and various work sites, career development departments, and vocational training programs.
  • Transport students to work sites as needed, ensuring seamless integration into their placements.
  • Regularly visit work sites to monitor student progress, providing guidance and support when needed.
  • Offer constructive feedback and coaching to students, helping them grow and develop professionally.
  • Take on teaching duties as necessary, allowing vocational instructors to focus on site visits and curriculum development.
  • Submit critical reports and updates, maintaining transparency and accountability within the program.
  • Develop and implement the Advanced Training Program, aligning it with established goals and objectives.
  • Pursue college opportunities for students, meeting with college representatives and conducting campus tours.
  • Streamline the registration process for students, ensuring they have a smooth transition into higher education.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress, and performance in the College Program, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on educational and personal growth.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience working with youth, 2 years in marketing, sales, or counseling.

Preferred

Supervisory experience.

Knowledge

Good understanding of the local community and employer base, excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, valid state driver's license, ability to relate to trainees and staff at all levels, and ability to read, interpret, and analyze labor trend studies.
