Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject areas.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Help students achieve improved standardized testing scores in math
- Establish a high degree of student/instructor rapport and creates a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to promote student motivation
- Maintain a high degree of accountability within the classroom setting in order to allow for maximum learning
- Document student attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in a timely manner and within program guidelines
- Deliver instruction using provided curriculum resources or new/updated curriculum
- Integrate applied academic activities into classroom curriculum
- Maintain adequate classroom cleanliness and preparation
- Effectively relate to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom
- Adhere to all data integrity measures related to classroom instruction and testing
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree. Certified to teach in the state in which center is located. (RO may waive if the center is unable to hire a certified teacher, but the candidate must actively pursue certification along an agreed upon timeframe).
Preferred: One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth.
Knowledge: Knowledge of required subject area, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
