Job Summary
Responsible for performing transportation functions related to the authorized travel of students at Government expense.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes and records Government Transportation Requests, meal tickets, and itineraries for authorized student travel.
- Specifies the desired services and fares when making requests of carriers, using the most efficient and economical means of transportation available.
- Responsible for ordering vehicle supplies, insurance, registration cards, and transportation documentation.
- Maintains proper documentation for vehicle cleaning and safety equipment inspections.
- Prepares Travel Authorization for new enrollee input, assisting with input scheduling and coordination with screening agencies.
- Maintains terminated student records and placement records.
- Attends required staff training sessions.
- Conducts a visual check of all vehicles before they go out and upon return to the center during shift, reporting areas of concern to the Transportation Managers.
- Attends required staff training sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Able to work Tuesday-Saturday. High school graduate or equivalent required. Two years' work-related experience as a coordinator necessary. A Class B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsements, as well as certification to drive large buses up to 44 passengers, passenger van experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs essential. Ability to communicate effectively using a two-way radio and cell phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience preferred.
Knowledge:
Regular attendance is necessary to perform the essential job functions. Valid State driver's license and commercial driver's license must be possessed. Ability to operate personal computer. Capability to use various software related inventory control. Ability to relate to the population. Excellent organization skills; good record-keeping skills.
