Career Transitions is supporting an industry leader located in Elkhart and they have an opening on their team for an Accountant.

The Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial information specific to the manufacturing operations. This role involves preparing financial reports, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and experience in a manufacturing setting.

Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Cost Accounting: Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to support manufacturing operations. Monitor and report on cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
• Month-End Close: Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting, including physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Ensure accuracy and validity of inventory records.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and cost management.

Accountant Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Skills: Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Advanced Excel skills..
