Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Subcontractor Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in expanding our fence installation geography and generating new business opportunities for our company. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales and an understanding of the fence construction industry. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing sales opportunities to help fuel our company's growth. This role would be servicing the Greater Grand Rapids area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Research and identify potential opportunities for fence installation and material sales, business partnerships, and building a network of qualified leads
  • Develop a reasonable but aggressive sales forecast for the customer that enables the company to reach its profit goals.
  • Lead Generation: Engage in outreach activities such as cold calls, emails, and networking events to generate new business.
  • Sales Presentations: Present the company's portfolio of fence designs and capabilities to potential clients, showcasing value propositions and benefits.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Work with potential customers to negotiate terms, pricing, and timelines, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Track Sales Metrics: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Coordinate with sales manager, retail manager, install foreman, and other sales representatives to ensure seamless execution of agreements and projects.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and industry standards to inform sales strategies and drive success.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the fencing, decks, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of business practices and the fencing/decking industry
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Google Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve targets and drive business growth.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous sales experience within the construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with commission-based structure.
  • Performance bonuses.
