The Practice Assistant – Litigation provides administrative and operational support to attorneys within the litigation practice area. This role requires experience in legal document preparation, court filings, scheduling, and client matter management. The Practice Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring attorneys receive timely and efficient support in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and format legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents.
- Print, scan, and convert various documents under time-sensitive deadlines.
- File legal documents following court procedures in federal, state, and local courts.
- Run conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, and open new client matters within the firm’s onboarding system.
- Maintain and organize paper and electronic files using the firm's document management system, ensuring compliance with filing protocols and retention policies.
- Manage attorneys’ schedules through Microsoft Outlook, track deadlines, and coordinate calendar appointments.
- Arrange travel plans through the firm’s corporate travel companion, Navan.
- Prepare and submit attorney expense reports.
- Assist with billing functions, including time entry and Proforma review using 3E.
- Collaborate with other practice assistants to provide administrative support to attorneys across the office.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
