What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Lathe Operator position at Careerbuilder-US?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time CNC / Manual Lathe Operator . The ideal candidate will operate lathes to perform a series of machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, facing, grinding, drilling and tapering, etc.
Duties include, but not limited to :
- Set up and operate manual lathe equipment
- Operate hand tools as needed in a safe and efficient manner
- Choose the correct tools to achieve the desired product finish, based on material and specifications
- Read and understand drawings and instructions
- Be able to properly utilize measuring tools such as a tape measure, micrometer, vernier, or caliper
- May need to operate overhead crane, forklift, and / or hand trucks as necessary
- Troubleshoot and repair machine malfunctions on various production machines.
- Perform production and machine changeovers.
- Package finished products accurately.
- Conduct testing of products and materials to maintain quality / product specifications.
- Perform clean-up duties on machines and work areas.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment as required by law and company guidelines / policy.
- Monitor and adhere to quality assurance guidelines.
- Ensure safe, accurate machine operation.
- Ensure safe, timely machine setup.
- Assist in physical inventory of products and production materials.
