DATES: 2/23 - 2/25 (Three-Day Medical Event)
SHIFT: 9a - 6:30p
PAY: Up to $27/hour
Skills needed for Phlebotomist Role: Strong and recent phlebotomy experience, comfortable with technology.
Skills needed for Medical Assistant Role: Experience with urine collection/labeling, for drug screens.
Skills needed for Admin role: Comfortable with Excel, Word, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to learn new technology quickly.

Phlebotomist Position Overview: The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, neonates and pediatric patients; works with computer; communicates in a manner that promotes professionalism as well as a comfortable phlebotomy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
- Blood Collection: from adult patients using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary puncture using heel and fingerstick techniques.
- Identifies and labels specimens appropriately.
- Enters accessioning data into the computer.
- Prepares specimens for send out testing.
- Inventories supplies and prepares phlebotomy stations to effectively collect blood.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform blood collection.
- Knowledge of container and minimum volume requirements for specimen collection.
- Skill in labeling and dispersing specimens to appropriate stations.
- Skill in interacting with patients representing a broad physical and socioeconomic spectrum. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, laboratory staff and medical staff.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Frequent standing, walking and bending required for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to support the body weight of an adult patient when moving from a chair to an exam table.
- Requires visual acuity and normal color perception.
Working Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment.
Qualifications and Education:
- High School diploma or GED and on the job training.
- One year of phlebotomy required.
Certification: Certification from an accredited phlebotomy diploma program or certification from accredited Medical Assistant program required.
Medical Assistant Position Overview: The role of a Clinical Medical Assistant is to provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. S/he coordinates with other members of the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, maximal coordination of efforts, and active patient participation in planning and care. Assists physician or other provider with clinical procedures.
MINIMUM MEDICAL ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of clinical experience in a medical office / clinic or hospital setting, or graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Record of prior stable employment and / or favorable references.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with at least one year of recent experience as a medical assistant.
- Current certification as a medical assistant or eligible for certification.
- Must obtain certification through the CMM M.A exam course if not yet certified at time of employment.
- Current CPR / BLS certification.
