This role goes beyond traditional heavy equipment mechanics—it requires expertise in custom heavy gearing for deck-mounted winches, hoists, and lifting equipment . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulic systems, gear ratios, fabrication, and precision assembly .
You will be responsible for interacting with customers to understand project scope, overseeing fabrication and assembly, managing parts ordering, and ensuring high-quality workmanship . If the right candidate is found, our client is prepared to make an early transition.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of custom heavy lifting equipment
- Work with hydraulic pumps, lines, gear ratios, and specialized lifting mechanics
- Ensure precise calculations for custom gearing and power transmission systems
- Interact with customers to assess project needs and technical requirements
- Order and manage parts and materials for projects
- Supervise and support the shop team, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Maintain high standards of quality control and adherence to specifications
