The CRA Officer will manage and oversee the bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program to ensure compliance with federal regulations and alignment with the bank's commitment to community development and fair lending practices. This role involves working closely with various departments, community organizations, and regulatory bodies to develop and implement strategies promoting economic growth and financial inclusion in our communities.
Responsibilities
- CRA Program Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain the bank’s CRA program to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Monitor and analyze the bank’s CRA performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit CRA performance evaluations and reports to regulatory agencies.
- Community Engagement
- On a limited basis, work in collaboration with the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement you will establish relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to identify community development opportunities.
- To promote the bank's CRA initiatives, you will represent the bank at community meetings, public forums, and outreach events.
- Collaborate with local organizations to support community development projects and financial education programs.
- Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate with Market Presidents, Division Leaders, and the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement on assessment area needs and opportunities.
- Collaborate with CRA Manager, the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement, the concerned business unit Directors and other concerned parties to manage the Bank’s CRA self-Assessment.
- Work closely with the lending, retail, and marketing departments to integrate CRA objectives into business strategies and operations.
- In collaboration with the Compliance Training Officer, provide training and guidance to bank staff on CRA regulations, goals, and performance requirements.
- Assist in developing loans, investments, and service products that meet community needs and CRA criteria.
- Participate in new product development and provide input regarding CRA concerns relevant to proposed and current products/services offered by the Bank.
- Collaborate with the Fair & Responsible Banking Officer and Fair Banking Analyst to align and leverage efforts.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Stay informed about changes in CRA regulations and ensure the bank’s policies and practices are up to date.
- Conduct regular self-assessments to evaluate the bank’s CRA compliance and address any identified deficiencies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding CRA examinations and inquiries.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all CRA matters.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of the bank’s CRA activities, performance, and community impact.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, the Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies.
- Track and report on the bank’s lending, investment, and service activities to demonstrate compliance and community impact.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, public policy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, supervisory experience is preferred
- Regulatory experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of CRA regulations, fair lending laws, and community development principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with community organizations, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulations, trade journals and legal documents.
- Extensive knowledge of bank policies and procedures
- Professional certification in CRA, compliance, or community development.
