As the Director of Data Analytics, your day will be filled with opportunities to lead all aspects of the bank’s data analytics initiative. Partner with key stake holders across the bank and play a key role in developing and implementing the bank’s data analytics strategies, which includes building the team, selecting the appropriate tools and platforms, developing the data governance framework, managing projects and delivering measurable results in support of the bank’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset along with a strong background in data science, analytics, and leadership with a proven track record of success in managing data-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Recruit and develop a skilled team of data analysts and scientists.
- Lead the development, implementation and support of the bank’s data analytics initiatives to ensure business value for the bank.
- Build a roadmap of people, processes, and capabilities to support a fast growing environment.
- Develop and communicate the overall strategic direction of the bank’s data analytics initiatives and build a culture of Data as an asset across the organization.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the bank’s data sources and how they can be used to provide business value for the bank.
- Develop and manage data governance as it relates to data analytics to ensure data is clean, accurate, current, reliable and documented.
- Oversee development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the data analytics.
- Lead the innovation and creative effort to identify and implement new products and data driven strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, develop and implement solutions that provide business value for the bank.
- Work with stakeholders and vendors to develop strategies for managing the flow of data using various ETL strategies (e.g. API’s, SFTP, etc…).
- Encourage and foster an environment for creative problem solving, transparency, resourcefulness and trust.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and maintain reports, databases, dashboards and presentations for internal customers.
- Remain up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to better drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the area of data and analytics.
- Ensure team and individual priorities are clearly documented and that objectives are met in accordance with stated goals, budget and time commitments
- Optimize and manage costs effectively
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- 10 years of experience with developing and executing data analytics initiatives, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Track record of success in developing and deploying creative insights, services and solutions that drove increased business value.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience with preparing and presenting to the senior management.
- Experience with in fast moving, hands-on environments.
- Experience with various database architectures (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure).
- Experience with various visualization solutions (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Sigma, MicroStrategy).
- Experience with various ETL and orchestration solutions (e.g. Informatica, Fivetran, DBT, Matillion)
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and time management skills
- Motivated, self-starter.
- Perform job duties with a sense of urgency and minimal direction.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Have a strong sense of professionalism and a passion for providing the highest level of customer service
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and third party vendors
