As a Junior Mortgage Loan Officer your day will be filled with opportunities to work with an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to sell mortgage loan products through sales efforts with individuals, builders, realtors, and other contact groups. Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist MLO with prequalification and maintaining relationship with borrower to convert to application
- Assist MLO by reviewing initial application, reviewing for accuracy and completeness, run AUS, review credit,
- Assist MLO by completing disclosures and schedule initial disclosure appointment with borrower if applicable
- Submit loan to setup within appropriate time frame
- Assist with phone calls directed to mortgage loan officer by directing the call to the appropriate department/person, taking a message, or assisting with call as applicable
- Place follow up calls to customers on behalf of loan officer, as applicable
- Schedule appointments and maintain loan officer calendar
- Manage referrals in S@YB to other departments
- Manage S@YB entries for sales calls and COI updates
- Work with processing and underwriting group to ensure customer contact and any conditions are handled in an appropriate timeframe
- Review pipeline and monitor return of initial application documents as well as initial required documentation
- Contact individuals, realtors and builders, attend chamber and other civic meetings to expand network contacts to generate sales
- Engage in marketing and promotional activities, such as giving presentations to groups, in an effort to generate sales
- Consult with customer to compile loan application in order to meet compliance guidelines while negotiating terms and conditions
- Collect, compile and analyze information for acceptability for approval for investor’s loan product
- Communicate with clients and potential clients, answering questions and providing information, acting as the primary point of contact from sale to closing
- Follow up closely with processor to ensure loans are closed timely
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHA, VA, and conventional loan rules, regulations and guidelines through a combination of educational classes, correspondence courses, on the job training and investor web sites
Other Functions:

- Assemble and distribute correspondence and updates

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Banking or mortgage experience preferred
- Proficiency in Word (including knowledge of mail mergers and creating templates)
- Proficiency in Excel (including ability to create graphs)
- Typing speed of 40 WPM
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment as well as part of a team.
