What are the responsibilities and job description for the MORTGAGE LOAN CLOSER position at Careers at Stock Yards Bank & Trust Co.?
As a Mortgage Loan Closer, your day will be filled with opportunities to prepare and review the closing documents according to the loan product and investor guidelines. Prepare closing instructions according to the approval and closing conditions required by mortgage underwriter and submit to the closing agency.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review conditional loan approval to ensure all conditions are appropriately satisfied – work with underwriters as needed to make sure all conditions are satisfied properly
- Send Pre-CD to Borrower(s) to have signed and make sure Borrower(s) signs in time to meet closing date.
- Complete Verbal Verification of Employment before closing.
- Prepare and review final Closing Disclosure (CD) to balance with Attorney.
- Complete closing package documents and submit to closing agency
- Contact customer to give status of loan closing and final funds needed to close along with any additional items required to close
- Be available to solve any closing issues that may occur while the customer is in the process of finalizing the loan with closing agent
- At time of loan disbursement Closer funds the loan
- Assist with review of closing packages and interface loans as time allows
- Prepare title policies and monitor return of recorded documents necessary to complete outstanding policies for bank and mortgage department
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school Diploma GED Equivalent
- 1 year as mortgage loan closer

- Employees must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, consisting of the ability to write and speak effectively to others
- Employees must be a productive team player, with the ability to learn, apply training and comprehend policies and procedures
- Employees should also be flexible to changing working situations and able to meet deadlines as they arise
- Typing speed of 40 WPM
- Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of mortgage loan documents
- Must be detailed oriented
