The qualified candidate will have 4 years of work related experience in electrical/electronic systems. The Engineering Technician will perform non routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable. Such assignments, which are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Developing, fabricating, delivering, updating, testing and maintaining special prototype and test hardware.
- Integrating the prototype and testing hardware into laboratory and shipboard environments.
- Developing or revising integration plans, and providing all materials, cables, connectors, mock-ups, equipment, test devices, tools, commercial software, shipping containers, and consumables required for proper hardware integration.
- Updating and maintaining hardware documentation including Hardware Development Plans for changes incorporated through specification changes, testing, and conversion requirements.
- Analyzing hardware faults, performance loss, degraded performance, intermittent operational anomalies, requirement deviations, and insufficient operability to determine the root cause, generating alternative solutions and producing recommended courses of action.
