INTERMEDIATE DRAFTER/CAD OPERATOR-AG

MRC has an immediate opening for a Drafter/CAD Operator in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport, Facilities Branch.
                                                                                                        
Provide AutoCAD facilities drawing support to document construction details, as-built configurations, map changes, building configurations, and layouts. 
   
- Validate as-built drawings, including on-site measurements of buildings interior, exterior and cubicle walls and modify existing drawings when discrepancies are found.
- Create and update Building As-built drawings.  Review/research existing paper drawings and on-site measurements of building walls, obstructions, partitions and cubicles, and subsequent use of data obtained to create building floor plans.
- Update NUWCKIVKPT base map master drawing, determine which buildings are not currently included and/or building structures that have been deleted and make corresponding changes in their proper location and configuration.

- Drawings may include building configurations, space layouts, emergency evacuation plans, building system layouts, which may include network infrastructure, HVAC systems, and fire sprinklers, and facility modifications.

- Maintain hard copy drawing files in the facilities work area per the established convention.                                

U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance required, current clearance a plus

Desirable to have an associate's degree in CAD software operation/design with 2-4 years’ experience                                                                  

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience should include preparation of construction drawings including, building and floorplan layouts and configurations, building assemblies including: sections, details and elevation profiles and drawing sheet layouts. Work requires use of conventional drafting techniques and a working knowledge of terms, methodologies and procedures of facilities drafting.

The hiring wage range is $29.00 to $ 33.00 per hour.
