What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at Careers @ Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
Manage product testing activities in CBU and assist with strengthening the CBU test lab facility. Oversee efforts of test technicians and scheduling of tests.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform product development and validation testing to support CBU engineering objectives, and author related test reports.
2. Oversee efforts of test technicians, assign work to them, and evaluate their progress.
3. Collaborate with product design engineers to develop strong DVPs.
4. Schedule testing, fixturing and prototype building activities in the test lab.
5. Assist with troubleshooting of issues with current product and manufacturing processes.
6. Specify and purchase equipment required for CBU product evaluation projects.
7. Coordinate and implement safety and 5S initiatives in the CBU test lab.
Education and Training
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
Minimum Qualifications
· 0-5 years’ work experience in a testing environment
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Project management experience is a plus
· Experience with data acquisition/analysis tools such as eDAQ, MATLAB, Simulink, dSpace, Vector CANoe
· Experience leading DFMEAs for control systems
· Knowledge of SAE J1939, J1708, J2534 protocols is a plus
· Demonstrated expertise using standardized problem-solving techniques
Physical Demands

· Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
· Working on underside of heavy-duty truck or trailer
· Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
