What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder- Afternoons position at Careers @ Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
Assist in the timely production of all welded parts and ensure welds being completed are within acceptable quality standards.
Essential Functions:
· Perform MIG, hand and robotic welding operations to produce product at the required production and quality level as instructed.
· Perform inspection on product utilizing total quality concepts.
· Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.
· Accurately report daily activities on work orders and Kan Ban cards and other media as required.
· Conduct required quality checks using basic measurement equipment.
· Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
· Exercise safe working habits while operating machines, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor/Area Leader.
Education and Training
· High School Diploma/GED required.
· Prior welding experience, required
· Ability to pass 2G MIG welding certification test.
· Must pass drug and alcohol screen and remain drug free throughout the term of employment
· Must follow all safety practices and policies.
· Able to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerances
Physical Demands
- Constant standing, walking, reaching, balancing, cervical spine motion, lower extremities, and simple grasp
- Frequent forward bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing
- Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
