Position Profile
POSITION: Hand Welder
GRADE: Hourly LOCATION: Mitchell
REPORTS TO: Team Leader/Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS: None
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loads and operates fixture as required. Pieces weigh up to 20lbs. Make running adjustments as needed.
- Weld and turn beam in fixture. Beams weight up to 100lbs. when completed. (Hoist and conveyor line used to move completed beams.) Lift and install piece parts, which weigh up to 20lbs. Process repeated up to 50 times per day.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment as scheduled.
- Perform machine-to-machine material handling as necessary within cell.
- Conduct required quality checks using basic measuring equipment.
- Accurately report daily activities on work orders, schedules and other media as required.
- Keep machine and work area clean and free of safety hazards.
- Follow safety procedures and exercise safe working habits while operating the machines.
- Operate other material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Group Facilitator.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. from accredited school.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass the Hendrickson weld test – 2G or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write legibly.
- Must be familiar with blueprints
- Must pass drug and alcohol screen and remain drug free throughout the term of employment.
