This is for a project specific role - the project is running a bit behind and they are hoping to see a great candidate they can bring onboard to help out for the remaining 2-3 months of the project.
This role will be on-site at the Irvine, CA location.
Position Overview:
The Irvine Manufacturing team is focused on providing crimped assemblies to our main manufacturing facility in Acton, MA for use in our Omnipods. These assemblies contain a special wire made of a material known as Shape-Memory Alloy (SMA). This candidate will work closely with the engineering team to support the production of the SMA wire. The candidate should expect to review and apply industry standards for machine and panel safety, design schematics, wire sub-panels, wire components into enclosures, program PLC and HMI software, and create documentation for validation and proper use.
Ideal candidate is familiar with electrical design, schematics (AutoCAD Electrical), and PLC systems (AB CompactLogix).

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support lead engineers in the design and construction of the manufacturing machines used to produce SMA wire. Support will include the following:
- Learn and apply proper machine and panel safety standards.
- Read machine schematics and properly wire the panel and machine using correct insulation colors, wire gauges, and routing methods.
- Create documentation conforming to Company standards to support the validation of the machines and fulfilling the required deliverables.
- Design and review schematics to check for correctness and be able to report and make updates.
- Design and review PLC and HMI software to check for correctness and be able to report and make updates.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Ability to follow electrical schematics for manufacturing machines
- Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical software
- Familiar with PLCs (Allen-Bradley)
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
