Job Description:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company to patients, assisting them with their health routine or guiding them through critical health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing those specimens for lab testing in accordance with established procedures. This role involves direct interaction with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and explaining procedures while ensuring safe and accurate blood draws. The PSR I will also demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy when handling patient information.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drawing blood specimens and processing both forensic and clinical samples with confidence, following established practices and procedures.

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.

• Ensuring a safe, professional, and supportive environment for patients.

• Demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working with patients to ensure comfort and understanding of the procedures.

• Promoting organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric populations.

• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.

• Strong customer service skills, particularly in retail or service environments.

• Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).

• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.

• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience (Required).

• Preferred: One or more years of phlebotomy experience.

• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is a plus.
