Individuals applying for this position must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively with others.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
To champion the use of DF/X tools on product development teams
o Consider lowest production costs with design alternatives
o Attempt to eliminate manufacturing/assembly waste with product design
o Ensure products are designed for stable processes that are already in use; if current processes do not meet new requirements, develop new processes concurrently during product development.
Participate in the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) of all new product development.
Participate in Manufacturing Risk Assessments and manage Risk Reduction activities.
Specify new manufacturing capabilities via development of new techniques, or specifying new equipment, tools, fixtures, test equipment.
