Job Description:
Uses radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Specific duties include: checking patient information; preparing room and equipment; communicating with patient; transferring patient; performing radiation treatment; maintaining schedule; maintaining supplies; keeping records; and assisting with teaching.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
Min 2 years of experience. Experience with EMR, treatment delivery, and imaging systems. A developing therapist Producting knowledge and skills with the principles of growth and development of a patient life span, assessing data reflective of patient s status and interpretation of information relative to age-specific needs. Knowledge of medical office operations and medical terminology. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook.

Job complexity:
- Implements prescription and treatment plan as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Operates therapeutic equipment, demonstrating proper patient positioning and monitoring of the patient during procedures which are semi-routine in nature.
- Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures.
- Accurately completes and charts simulation and treatment summaries, reports and documentations.
- Graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on day-to-day work
- AART Certification.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Maintains registration in good standing with the American Registry of
- Radiologic Technologists and the state licensing authority of the state which the clinic is located.
- Associate degree or bachelor s degree in radiation therapy or related field;
- graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology;
- AART Certification; valid CPR certification;
- 2-3 years of work experience as a certified/licensed radiation therapist.
