Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

Responsibilities: Support research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) on chemical, biological, and explosive (CBE) detection and identification systems. Support advanced technology demonstrations, operational exercises and other testing in the field. Field support will include planning, set up/take down, instrumentation for real-time analytics, night operations, and system training.

• Conduct R&D on CBE systems to include low-visibility sampling, collection, and analysis of threats
• Plan and conduct operational exercises to demonstrate the capabilities of CBE systems including counter improvised-explosive device (IED) threats, military working dog search pattern optimization, and battlefield sensor integration
• Train operators on the use of developmental CBE systems during field events
• Remain current on related subjects in the literature and news.
• Contribute to presentations, technical reports and research publications.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology or a related discipline.

Job Requirements

• U.S. Citizen eligible for a security clearance
• 3 years of laboratory experience developing and testing chemical or biological detection systems and sensors
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly, multitask, and complete work within schedule

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with both chemical and biological detection/identification
• Experience field testing developmental detection/identification systems or participation in Advanced Technology Demonstrations
• DoD Secret clearance
