Position Purpose:

We are seeking an addiction counselor to work with criminal justice population and our outpatient team to provide addiction treatment services in the Boone County jail setting and community. This position is responsible for being the primary counselor for clients with substance use disorders and includes assessments, outpatient continued care groups, case management, and a collaborative relationship with Boone County community partners. It includes facilitation of an educational group for at risk adolescents. The ideal candidate has a passion for this population and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's Preferred,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field, or equivalent experience and training required
  • Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC),or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in substance used disorder services.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills,
  • Computer proficiency required,
  • Ability to navigate and complete documentation in the electronic healthcare record,
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling,
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources,
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently,
  • Ability to work within a team,
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
  • Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within required time frame.
  • Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs.
  • Educate client and client support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
  • Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
  • Ensure that documentation in client service record is maintained consistent with expectations defined by SUPR, TJC and Medicaid regulations.
  • Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, case management and discharge plans).
  • Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
  • Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, and staff and community groups.
  • Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
  • Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Based on education, experience and credentials

  • Starting rate for Bachelors - $21.11/hour
  • Starting rate for Masters - $24.44/hour
  • CADC - $.50/hour
  • Additional pay available for staff who exceed the average daily attendance of clients for the entire month

Schedule: 8 hour shifts

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Shift: 1st shift
