Summary of the Role:
In partnership with the External Business Development (Sales) Team, this role as the Internal Business Development Associate is responsible for supporting and maintaining existing relationships with partner offices and firms. You must be adept at identifying and acquiring new business with your partner advisors to meet sales goals. These sales goals would involve any of the following products: Life Insurance, Deferred Compensation, Long Term Care & Individual Disability Income. You will facilitate the acquisition of meetings with the advisory partners to develop new business relationships. In this role, you will also be responsible for providing case design support and product knowledge via the external business development team. This role involves supporting a Sales team, with the expectation that your career growth will lead to transitioning into an external, client-facing business development sales role. You should display confidence and comfort with interactions and negotiations.
This is an ideal role for emerging talent eager to learn and grow their career in insurance and brokerage services. Recent college graduates and those with a couple of years of experience in sales, operations, or administrative support will find this position particularly fulfilling.
This is a full-time role with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule (2 days a week) from our Warrington, PA office. We will consider a remote role for highly qualified candidates, within a commutable distance and who could report to the office as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fielding of inbound calls from advisors in regard to NFP Executive Benefits solutions and identifying selling opportunities.
- Work closely with the External Consultants to develop and execute an appropriate business plan to maximize sales.
- Become a specialist in areas including:
- Life Insurance
- Disability Insurance
- Long Term Care
- Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation
- Identify and convert dormant relationships into producing ones.
- All other duties, as required by management team.
- Assist the external business development team with scheduling meetings and follow-up on opportunities
- Assist with business development by formulating and implementing strategies and programs that differentiate NFP and its partner firms.
- Deliver subject matter expertise in personal and business use of executive benefits products.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent industry work experience. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior insurance industry sales or sales support experience is a plus. Some experience in a corporate sales capacity a plus.
- Must have a desire to learn and grow in a sales capacity.
- Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must have strong relationship-building skills & sense of time management.
- Must be a detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity.
- Must be able to obtain a Life and Health license, and/or FINRA Series 6 & 63 within 6 months. A Series 7 is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs is preferred.
- Proven ability to pay attention to details and manage competing priorities.
- Curiosity to ask the right questions to uncover client's and advisor's needs.
- Ability to effectively and professionally present at meetings, during networking, etc
- Demonstrated ability to learn the business and have a business and customer-centric approach to finance and accounting leadership.
- Ability to collaborate and develop strong relationships with all levels of personnel within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate complex business problems and provide well-thought-out solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, employee engagement, and performance management skills.
- Must possess personal and business integrity with an energetic style demonstrated by a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Must be a well-organized self-starter who can effectively analyze a problem, articulate a well-thought-out solution plan, and deliver results.
- Must have strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint skills as well as various internet and AI search techniques. Preferable to have familiarity in the use of excel macros, power pivots, and power queries.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000– $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
