What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist (Lead) - Full Time position at Careers?

Under general supervision, provides comprehensive speech therapy case management or program development for rehabilitation patients and provides consultative or liaison services to other speech therapy personnel, allied health disciplines, and/or community agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Performs same duties as staff speech therapists. Adjusts therapy program based on age of the patient, developmental needs, understanding and attention span.
- Manages specialized caseload. Assists in assigning patients to staff therapists.
- Serves as a resource person to other speech therapy staff in coordinating patient's overall programs, including complex discharge procedures and available community resources.
- Provides feedback to the department head on clinical skills of staff therapists.
- Works actively to develop new and improved programs involving ongoing reassessment of existing evaluation methods and treatment techniques, learning and incorporating new techniques and initiating necessary program changes when indicated.
- Establishes ongoing coordination and communication with other services and professionals for the purpose of program development and enhancement.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Adheres to policies and procedures specific to patient rights.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment; identifies and reports hazards.
- Meets all requirements for mandatory in-services.
- Adheres to policies/procedures specific to universal precautions when delivering patient care.
- Adheres to policies regarding attendance, conduct, grooming, and dress code.
- Promotes a positive image of the hospital to outside agencies and the public.
- Participates in performance improvement activities as needed.
- Exhibits excellent service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Shows courtesy, compassion and respect.
- Exhibits values of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Licensed speech language pathologist in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of three years of speech therapy experience preferred.
