Summary of Role:
This is a service position managing your own book of business. The primary function of this position is to provide quality service to clients and cross-sell/account-round within the existing book of business with emphasis in full retention. Participate as a production team member in developing additional revenue from existing and/or new accounts. You will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company and designated accounts. You will manage and control relationships with clients in collaboration with Producers and/or Account Executives, where required. Daily servicing of clients will include contract analysis, coverage and exposure analysis, endorsement activity, routine coverage and billing questions, problem-solving, renewal control, preparation of quotes/proposals, binding coverage, and claim reporting and follow-up.
You should have P&C experience and an active P&C license, have knowledge and experience in select commercial insurance including, but not limited to, commercial auto, property, general liability, umbrella, inland marine, workers compensation, and flood. As needed, you will coordinate with Producers on strategic account issues and potential problems.
This is a full-time position, ideally working hybrid from our Delaware office. We will consider a remote option for well-experienced Commercial Lines candidates able to work on an EST schedule.
Essential Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain alerts and follow up, through the computer system, with clients and carriers, as necessary, or upon the receipt or delivery of insurer documentation (relates to billing, endorsements, waivers, policy audits, signed policies, certificates, accounts receivables, quotes.
- Proofread all documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of information and documents produced for service team members, clients or carriers.
- Address client needs by communicating with the client, via computer, phone, or face-to-face interaction, and ensuring that all appropriate resources are being utilized.
- Inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusion and needs.
- Prepare summaries of insurance, create schedules and proposals as needed for account review. Remarket and handle other renewal activities with the Account Manager/Account Executive/Producer.
- Uses agency credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments.
- Perform all technical and clerical functions for the assigned book of business to assure insurance service needs of individual clients are met. These functions include but are not limited to client file set-up, issuing evidence of insurance forms, application completion, endorsement and renewal processing. Initiating or assisting with new business as directed by the Producer.
- Production of new lines of coverage to existing accounts.
- Marketing, including submissions and proposals: (Develop account submission by gathering account underwriting information and market submission directly to underwriter(s) – as directed by Producer. Prepare client/prospect proposal. Develop market rapport with carriers).
- Analyze loss run/claim history reports; ability to utilize ModMaster.
- Responsible for assuring client’s coverage documents conform to Program Review/Proposal.
- Timely completion of policy review and our E&O checklist to confirm to professional standards.
- Responsible for assuring all (Agency Bill) client billings are entered accurately into system 30 days prior to company due date. Bill Direct Billed Items according to company statements.
- Maintain proficiency in all technical aspects of the position including policy review, limits, coverages, program design, solvency issues as well as excess & surplus lines placements.
- Develop and maintain the data of the Agency Automation System – Applied Systems.
Job Specifications/Requirements:
- Property and casualty insurance license upon hire is required
- 3-5 years Property Casualty Consulting experience.
- BA/BS degree is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and an ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to clients and underwriters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage workload
- Advanced MS Office skills, to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- EPIC experience is preferred, but will consider other agency management system experience
- Excellent calendar management skills with meeting planning experience
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Attention to detail and follow-through; maintains a sense of urgency
- Professional designations preferred/helpful (CIC, AAI, CISR, CPIA)

The base salary range for this position is $49,000 – $90,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
