Position Purpose: The Prevention Team Leader is responsible for development and supervision of the delivery of services within the Prevention Program. In Central Illinois, we provide interactive youth prevention education using evidence-based curriculum for children in fourth through eighth grades in more than 20 schools. Our prevention specialists partner with schools to teach kids social-emotional learning skills covering communication, peer pressure refusal, decision-making, how to manage emotions, and more. They also provide age-appropriate information about drugs and drug use such as alcohol, marijuana, opioids and prescription medications, inhalants, vaping, and substance use prevention.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies, Health Studies, Education, or other related field, or equivalent experience and training
- Must qualify as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132
- Prior experience in facilitating group activities preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with experience in public speaking preferred
- Competence in using common computer applications such as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software i.e., Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
- Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Essential Responsibilities:
- Adhere to prescribed work hours set by leadership, and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
- Promote the de-stigmatization of addiction through educational initiatives and community outreach.
- Understand and demonstrate knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework and Public Health Model of Prevention.
- Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources.
- Provide direct service hours to community, offering support and assistance as needed.
- Respond to requests for presentations at various civic, school, and community organizations.
- Ensure that outcome expectations set by funding sources are met through effective program management and reporting.
- Accurately complete required documentation and reports within prescribed time.
- Design prevention programs to meet the needs of the community and/or special interest groups.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the disease process of substance use disorders and the core functions of prevention, applying this knowledge effectively to job responsibilities.
- Use and/or develop evaluation tools to measure outcomes for prevention programs.
- Professionally represent Rosecrance and the Prevention program at all Rosecrance/work-related functions.
- Develop and supervise the organization and delivery of clinical services within the Prevention program area.
- Implement and maintain systems of accountability to monitor department utilization and staff resources.
- Ensure the delivery of quality service, positive outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
- Promote the Team concept throughout the program and the organization
- Maintain professional, personal and emotional balance through continuous self-examination, supervision and feedback.
- Mentor staff by providing feedback on job performance, professional development and their personal and emotional balance.
- Ensure implementation of licensure standards for the department.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental action plans as required by grant funding.
- Monitor and report quarterly, bi-annual, and annual grant updates.
- Stay abreast of local, state, and national Prevention programs, trends, research, and other relevant information.
- Works towards accomplishment of goals and objectives articulated by prevention funding proposals.
- Serve as a member of the Prevention Team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
- Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

- 8:00am - 4:30pm

- Base Pay: Starting at $48,339/year (pay is based on education, experience, and credentials)
