Credit Finance Specialist Job Summary: The Credit Finance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the collections of accounts receivable and performing associated credit and collection functions. This role will maintain accurate financial records, portfolio credit reviews, collection of open invoices and routine collection matters. The position is based in Baltimore Pompeian HQ at 4201 Pulaski Highway Baltimore, Maryland 21224. Offering hybrid role 2/3 days. The position will work closely with and report to the Accounts Receivable Credit Manager.
Credit Finance Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years of current credit department and collection experience
- Proven success in leading and delivering complex collection results
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Persuasive communication skills and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience meeting reporting deadlines
- Familiarity working with EDI
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suites
- Supervisory Experience is a plus
- INFOR/M3 experience a plus
- Experience working in a credit/collections department or Accounts Receivable preferably in a CPG environment

Credit Finance Specialist Responsibilities:
- Assist the Credit Manager with portfolio credit reviews and collection of open Invoices
- Prepare monthly, recurring, and special reports for the Credit Manager and Corporate Controller to support Financial close
- Review routine collection matters
- Discuss & evaluate customer status to advise the Credit Manager on the next steps
- Identify accounts receivable risks and take necessary steps to mitigate risks
- Ensure timely and efficient collection of Invoices per company policies
- Monitor short payments, skipped invoices, credits issued, and unapplied payments on account
- Maintain awareness of regulations affecting credit practices and collection activity
- Gather and document due diligence information for credit requests
- Coordinate credit approvals with Credit Manager, and appropriate sales and broker team associates
- Interface with the cash application Department to ensure accurate posting of cash and associated A/R balances
- Prepare the monthly credit deck and assist with bad debt reserve and budget
- Maintain all reporting in a confidential manner
- Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals
- Perform duties and tasks per Pompeian’s mission, goals and core values
