What You'll Do:
- Develop New Flavors: Create innovative flavors to support global Flavors Innovation, including taste modulators, spray dries, encapsulates, and flavor characterization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Advise and assist departments like QC, Production, and Purchasing as part of collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Support Customer Projects: Work with R&D applications to develop solutions for customer projects that require specialized technology.
- Sales Support: Travel with the sales team to demonstrate products, educate clients, and build vital relationships.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Participate in communication meetings with Flavor Chemists, Marketing, and Applications staff to evaluate new products, raw materials, and trends.
What You’ll Bring:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on flavor creation experience.
- Expertise in Flavor Materials: Deep knowledge of natural and/or synthetic flavor raw materials, with a proven track record of creating winning compounded, extracted, distilled, and dry flavors to meet customer needs and market trends.
- Certification Preferred: Certification from the Society of Flavor Chemists is preferred.
- Advanced Flavor Technologies: Experience with novel flavor extraction, dry flavor technologies, cloud emulsion systems, savory and reaction flavors, and modulation systems like sweetness and mouthfeel.
- Flavor Chemistry Mastery: Strong understanding of flavor chemistry, including solubility, flavor interaction, stability, and analytical techniques like GC/MS interpretation. Willingness to travel up to 20%.
