STATEMENT OF FUNCTION

The Business Services Representative (BSR) is part of a dynamic team that works with regional businesses to help them grow and prosper by developing strong relationships between the business community and CareerSource Escarosa. Serving as the face of CareerSource to businesses within their assigned industry sector(s), the BSR is the go-to person for workforce planning, hiring, and training, while also promoting the agency’s business services. They play a key role in advancing the recruitment, training, and placement of unemployed and underemployed individuals to meet the needs of local businesses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Under the direct support and supervision of the Business Services Program Manager.

  • Provides human resources solutions to employers in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties by conducting outreach and education activities to explain and promote CareerSource Escarosa's business services.
  • Participates in business, professional, trade organizations, and educational institutions to conduct outreach and recruiting activities that increase awareness of CareerSource Escarosa business services available to employers and job seekers.
  • Works with employers to discuss hiring and job training needs, provide general assistance and referral services, and assist in the development of tailored job training programs.
  • Ensures that Employ Florida data, such as business contact information and job orders is valid, up-to-date, and accurate. Deactivates employer profiles for businesses that have ceased operations or relocated out of the region and follows up with employers to ensure closure of job orders upon hire.
  • Assists with planning, coordination, and execution of CareerSource Escarosa events such as career fairs, hiring events, and career days.
  • Promptly and accurately enter business service codes into EmployFlorida for work completion.
  • Shares business needs and insights with the CareerSource Escarosa business services team and collaborates with other program departments within the organization.
  • Makes recommendations for and assists with planning and execution of new employer services and special projects.
  • Works with management to solicit customer feedback on events and services offered through surveys and other feedback mechanisms.
  • Must be able to become a Certified Workforce Professional (Tier l) and a Certified Florida Ready to Work Professional in Digital and Soft Skills within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Operation hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human resources, or a related field. Experience in business-to-business sales, human resources or professional recruiting may be considered as a substitute for degree/education on a year for year basis.

Experience: at least 2 years’ experience in direct sales, marketing, recruiting, human resources or a related area is required. Training, experience, credentials or licensure in job analysis or job profiling is a plus.

Skills/Abilities: Keyboarding/typing skills are required. Proficiency in a variety of PC applications is required including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in using Salesforce software or similar client relationship management (CRM) software is desirable.

The ability to provide outstanding, positive customer service is essential. Organizational skills, time management skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are required. Ability to meet goals and deadlines. Experience in public speaking is preferred.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A willingness to provide support and assistance to fellow team members is essential.

Travel throughout Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties is required, as well as occasional overnight travel to areas outside the two-county area. A valid Florida driver's license and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle is required.

Knowledge of, or experience working with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act including employer incentives such as On-the-Job Training (OJT), Employed Worker Training (EWT), Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) Customized Training, etc.

Proficiency in utilizing Salesforceor other Client Relationship Management (CRM) software Programs. Ability to understand and interpret federal program policy and apply necessary procedures and processes. Keyboarding skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Proficiency with the Employ Florida system is preferred

A background check and drug screen will be conducted once the offer of employment has been extended and accepted. Any employment offer will be contingent upon acceptable results of these screenings.
