About the Role
Responsibilities of the Position :
Strategic :
- Carry out the directives of the Board of Directors and support the Committee objectives and annual goals
- Participate as an ex-officio member at the monthly Board of Directors meeting
- Provide vision and leadership for the agency staff with the support of the Board of Directors and Strategic Board Committee Chair
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all funding entities and donors
- Advocate for the farmworker community at the local, state, and federal level
- Evaluate the functioning of the agency and its programs and make recommendations to the Board of Directors
Fiscal Accountabilities :
Prepare the annual budget with the Board of Directors Treasurer and monitor the budget monthly as well as work with auditors to insure timely submission and completion of the auditSecure funding to operate the agency and its programs by writing grants, developing donor base, coordinating fundraisers, annual appeals, and social media presence. All of these not only raise funding, but also engage people in the agencyResponsible for program contacts and grant managementDevelop annual funding timeline calendar to ensure all investments and bank accounts are proactively managedEnsure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical and data reportsMarketing :
Assist in developing and supporting the Marketing Committee’s annual Marketing communications plan and Branding GuidelinesWork with the media and maintain good public relations for the agency including speaking engagements and presentationsNetwork, coordinate, and collaborate with public, private, and community organizations to advocate for the agency and its clientsCoordinate the agency website, brochures, newsletters, and client materials to ensure brand consistency in messaging and presentationOversee all fundraising events, including but not limited to the Holiday Luncheon and Spring GalaAdministration and Operations :
Manage, and ensure compliance with, all leases, contracts, grants, insurances, licenses, and accreditations to operate the agencyEnsure that the agency maintains its Solicitation of Contributions Certificate, state corporation registration, and IRS 501C (3) statusSeek and maintain accreditation by either Guidestar or Charity Navigator, which are nationally known organizationsOversee all program development, implementation, evaluation, and qualityManage and train personnel and maintain organized and appropriate personnel records in alignment with reviewsProvide staff with training and opportunities for certification as needed.Provide direct client services when necessaryMeet regularly with the staff to monitor and improve agency functions.Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of volunteersOversee the maintenance of the FWCC facilities to maintain a safe, healthy and pleasant work environment
Qualifications -
Must currently reside in the Palm Beach County metro areaA bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years’ experience in management, fundraising, and organizational development is required. Grant writing and non-profit experience is required. Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and proficiency in both verbal and written communication. Bilingual in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus. Computer skills and professional appearance and attitude are a must. Experience in working with farmworker / immigrant populations is preferred. Safe driving record and the ability to pass a background check.
