Senior Tax Accountant - Client Manager
Location: West Palm Beach, FL (Fully Onsite)
Work Schedule: Onsite with required overtime during tax season (January – April)
About the Company
A well-established CPA firm in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking a Client Manager to join its growing team. With a staff of 25 professionals, the firm is structured into three specialized teams focused on client relationships, accuracy, and service continuity. This position serves as a Manager-in-Training with a clear path to long-term leadership. A partnership track is available for CPA-credentialed individuals based on performance.
About the Role
The Client Manager will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, providing a range of financial services, including:
- Accounting
- Bookkeeping
- Tax Planning
- Tax Preparation
This role requires strong leadership skills, client management expertise, and the ability to oversee daily financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 75-125 clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Oversee and mentor a team of bookkeepers and accountants
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconcile accounts, and manage payroll and sales tax filings
- Lead tax planning and preparation efforts, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing financial inquiries and offering customized solutions
- Facilitate smooth client transitions while building long-term relationships
- Participate in the firm’s manager training program to develop leadership and technical skills
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience managing bookkeeping teams and handling client portfolios
- Prior experience in a CPA firm is required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations)
- Ability to handle 98% of tax-related client work, with a willingness to train in tax preparation/planning
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent hands-on experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (50% client-facing role)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Willingness to work extended hours during tax season (250 overtime hours from January to April)
Pay range and compensation package
- Competitive Salary – Based on experience, with bonus potential
- Partnership Track – Available for CPA-credentialed individuals after 3-5 years, based on performance
