Under general direction of senior-level accounting personnel, perform intermediate-level professional accounting responsibilities, including, but not limited to, preparing basic financial statements, journal entries, reconciliation of financial data, and preparation of financial reports from the General Ledger.

Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 3 years accounting experience with experience in development and maintenance of financial reconciliations and related schedules.

Essential Functions
- Verification of general ledger data through development and maintenance of monthly reconciliations/analyses of reported activity to source documentation. Process includes resolution of outstanding issues through research and initiation of corrective control measures ? procedural or transactional. Provide timely and informative information regarding the status of reconciliations and relevant projects to management. Works with internal and external suppliers of information to ensure accuracy of journal entries and schedules.
- Preparation of monthly journal entries including relevant supporting transactional or analytical documentation, in a timely manner to meet divisional goals and deadlines.
- Special projects as necessary: Will include application of accounting and research techniques toward resolution of outstanding material issues; intermediate analyses and trending of financial information are performed to verify the integrity of data in the financial statements. Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Strengthen departmental effectiveness through cross-training, documentation of procedures and assistance in responding to audit requests.

- Knowledge and understanding of accounting software.
- Proficient with user interface and query software (Microsoft Access).
- Proficient with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (i.e., Oracle PeopleSoft).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
