Proposal Development Specialist II (Remote)

Although this position is REMOTE, candidates must live in the MD, DC or VA area in order to travel into the offices on occasion.

PURPOSE : The Proposal Development Specialist II is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality, on-time proposal responses to sales bids. As a key member of the Proposal Development Team, this role collaborates with various personnel across the organization to prepare standard proposal templates and responses to formal bids (RFI / RFP) and related tasks. The specialist ensures the production of compliant, winning proposals that are clear and responsive to RFP / RFI requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Proposal Review and Preparation : Analyze RFPs / RFIs and other solicitation documents to determine proposal requirements, prepare drafts, and create final responses. Ensure all documents comply with bid requirements.

Schedule Management : Develop, coordinate, and monitor schedules, creating and communicating deadlines and timelines for response documents.

Collaborative Work : Work collaboratively with subject matter experts across all areas and levels of the organization, including geographically diverse teams.

Business Knowledge : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of the business, including mission, services offered, and industry trends, to apply to proposals and ensure success.

Documentation : Write, edit, and proofread proposal documentation and enter data into Salesforce / CRM.

Sales Enablement Support : Support the development and maintenance of sales enablement resources (e.g., standard and custom proposal content, proposal templates) and maintain related software systems (e.g., proposal management software, Salesforce, SharePoint).

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.

Experience :

• 3 years of experience in developing and producing effective sales-oriented proposals and technical response documents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs) :

Time Management : Excellent time management and organizational skills, especially when working with geographically dispersed staff, with a strong sense of urgency.

Workload Management : Proven ability to manage workload effectively, including communicating when additional team resources are needed to meet demands.

Attention to Detail : Demonstrated high attention to detail.

Communication : Adaptable communication style to work with colleagues at all levels across the organization.

Interpersonal Skills : Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including grammar, style, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading. Familiarity with writing style guides and formats.

Salary Range : $59,040 - $117,260
