What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compounding Pharmacy Technician position at Carefree Compounding & Wellness?
Carefree Compounding & Wellness is a Phoenix-based Compounding Pharmacy, locally owned and operated, that is dedicated to providing pharmaceutical services based on integrity, compassion, and excellence. We specialize in a variety of non-sterile compounded medications, both standard formulations and custom products, as well as commercially available medications and supplements. Here at Carefree Compounding & Wellness, our patients are our top priority, and our staff is family.
We currently have a full position open for a Compounding Technician, whom, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, prepares non-sterile medications, manages lab inventory, and assists with related job duties.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepares high quality compounded medications (Capsules, Creams, Troches, Treats, Etc.) according to USP 795 and USP 800 guidelines.
· Maintains proper storage of inventory and ensures necessary security of drugs and chemicals.
· Receives and stores incoming chemicals or other related compounding supplies.
· Mixes, mills, packages, and labels compounded preparations as needed.
· Performs daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants, deactivators, and equipment.
· Conducts quality control activities for preparations, procedures, and work space routinely
· Calibrates and maintains proper documentation of equipment (Hoods, Scales, Hot plates, etc.)
Daily recording of temperatures for the refrigerators and freezers where chemicals are stored, as well as room temperature and humidity recordings for each lab.
· Proofs own work for accuracy, completeness, and pharmaceutical elegance.
· Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
· Majority of time is spent in the laboratory
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to wear required compounding safety equipment for long periods of time when required
· Exposure to chemicals used during the compounding process. Hazardous chemicals may be used and special safety precautions are required.
Job Qualifications:
· AZ Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician License
· PTCB Certification
· Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED
· One year prior experience in pharmaceutical compounding

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
