Role Description
CareFund is a high-growth, financial services and fintech startup looking for an ambitious accountant with great work ethic that can grow and advance with the Company. This is a full-time on-site role at CareFund located in Birmingham, AL that reports directly to the CEO. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading and advancing the accounting function and day-to-day financial tasks, including the month-end and year-end close process, preparing and analyzing financial reports, managing accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting. This position will also serve as a back-up to the Consumer Loan Analyst team and at times will be asked to support the customer support, loan origination and servicing, and collections functions with proper supervision and training.
Qualifications
- Financial Analysis, Account Reconciliation, experience with the monthly close process, and Invoice Processing skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
- Experience with accounting software (Quickbooks)and Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage non-financial tasks with strong communication skills, both verbal and written
