Software Engineer

Caregility is seeking a Backend Software Engineer. This position is a Full-Time Exempt role. This position will be based on the East Coast. It is a hybrid role in our Wall Township, NJ office. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing Caregility's cloud-based services, focusing system performance, and backend infrastructure. You are expected to be hands-on engineer, drive software development, and build scalable, reliable backend solutions. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, impactful software solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Strong experience writing high quality code
• Continuously optimize queries, reports, and dashboards for performance and scalability, ensuring a seamless user experience for large datasets.
• Continuously optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and reliability, handling large datasets efficiently.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Java and Spring Boot to transform and migrate data from source systems.
• Apply data analytics best practices to contribute to the design and development of data models and reporting solutions that enhance business intelligence.
• Troubleshoot backend issues, ensure timely resolution, and provide recommendations for long-term solutions.
• Contribute to building a strong engineering culture, with focus on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the duties outlined in this job description. In addition, you may be assigned other tasks and responsibilities from time to time, as determined by the needs of the company. These duties will be aligned with your position and may evolve as the business requires.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Required 5 years of experience. We are looking for a very strong developer.
• Experience writing Java, Spring Boot, and a strong understanding of RESTful API development
• Demonstrated experience in writing optimized queries and stored procedures.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• A passion for software engineering tooling, infrastructure optimization, and scalable system design
• Experience leading agile delivery teams and implementing continuous improvements.

• May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
• Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking.
• Limited weekend and/or night work may be required.
• Domestic and international travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area.
• Current valid U.S. Passport is desirable.
• Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts.
• Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.
• Knowledge of and adherence to Caregility policies and procedures.
