Full-Time Evening Crisis Intervention Specialist
The Careline crisis hotline team provides therapeutic support for the statewide crisis and suicide hotline. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will implement policies, protocols, and services designed to assist individuals who are in crisis, including those considering dying by suicide, or who are concerned about someone else with suicidal behavior, by providing emotional support, crisis response, and intervention. This position also provides support, information, and referral for non-crisis calls. Services are provided via phone calls, text messaging, or chat. As a member of the Careline team, you will interact with clients and staff in a respectful and empowering manner, exercise consistent and dependable attendance, and attend all mandatory staff meetings. At Careline, all staff present themselves in a professional demeanor and maintain confidentiality when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Human Services or a closely related field. Prior work or life experience may be used in place of the degree. We expect our candidates to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills, a commitment to the agency's mission and goals, the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, and the ability to work independently and pass a background check. It is required that the candidate be proficient with computers and have the ability to do frequent data entry.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime
Shifts Available: 3 p.m.-11 p.m., 4 p.m.-12 a.m., and/or 6 p.m.-2 a.m., shifts available are varied dependent upon the day of the week.
Salary: Determined by experience, Non-Exempt
Location: Not Remote - Office Location is in Wasilla, Alaska
