Full-Time Front Line Manager
The Careline crisis hotline team provides therapeutic support for the statewide crisis and suicide hotline. The Front Line Manager will ensure staff compliance with protocols for all incoming crisis lines and encourage utilization of best practices for intervention and services designed to assist individuals who are in crisis, including those considering dying by suicide or who are concerned about someone else with suicidal behavior. Support staff in conducting accurate, thorough risk assessments and guiding appropriate interventions as needed and as applicable. This position provides support to staff on shift, including debriefing and problem-solving. As a member of the Careline team, you will interact with clients and staff in a respectful and empowering manner, exercise consistent and dependable attendance, and attend all mandatory staff meetings. At Careline, all staff present themselves professionally and maintain confidentiality when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in psychology, social work, or a behavioral science field; 2 years of applicable work experience may be substituted.
Ability to stay calm when handling stressful situations and skilled in problem-solving. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to enforce protocols to ensure the lines remain available for incoming crisis calls without compromising the service levels.
Knowledge of the fundamental principles, methods, and theories of suicide prevention and intervention. Demonstrated experience in identifying and appropriately responding to suicidal risk and proficiency in web-based computer environments and multi-line phone systems.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Shifts Available: Flexible work hours with occasional overtime, including frequent evenings and weekends.
Salary: Determined by experience, exempt.
Location: Hybrid - Office Location is in Fairbanks, Alaska.
